... on Piriton allergy tablets

I had a bad bout of prickly heat yesterday whilst up the gym, this was due to getting my back sunburnt on saturday.

I was in alot of pain as I've never really experienced this prickly heat stuff before, but apparently my dad used to suffer with it quite badly in his earlier days.

Anyway I went to the chemist and asked for some medication for it. they suggested a bottle of calemine lotion and some anti hists'.

Well I was in so much pain from it I decided to have a couple of these yesterday about 16:00 and then went home, I pretty much slept most of the evening waking occasionally to check the forum as you do.

This morning I was still in a bit of pain so I took another two of these tablets. I'm feeling really dizzy now and am finding it hard to keep my eyes open.

Just read the packet, you are only supposed to take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours. I've had 4 in the last 3 hours . Anyone know if you can top yourself on allergy tablets .

How much are these tablets, and are they cheaper than what I usually use for getting that 'dizzy' feeling??!?!?!:D :D

Prickly heat causing so much PAIN? It's uncomfortable I know, but PAIN......? Sure you aint got shingles?

I've taken too many piriton lots of times before and my god do they make you feel shit!!

You'd have to be a real lightwieght or have an allergy LOL to die though.

Just remember, don't drive or operate machinery. :):D

Go book half day and have a couple of pints and pass out until tomorrow. :)

Just spoken to Vikki (who is a pharmacy tech) and she said YES you can OD on them, but with the amount you've taken, you'll just feel really drowsy for a few hours....She also said you probably should'nt take any for a couple of days to allow the high dose to get out of your system.

HTH

LOL You are not the only victim of the weather.

I saw a huge St Bernard dog that had collapsed on the pavement today and 3 men trying to get it on a stretcher to take it to the vet!

Was funny to see but I'm sure the dog wasn't so happy! :D

You should have draped it accross your bonnett Chris!:D

Prickly heat, yeah I've got that at the moment.

The thing is though I've never had it in my whole life and now almost my whole body is covered in it apart from my head, hands & feet.

Someone suggested that because I had a bug last Friday my imune system is probably still working overtime.

hope u were using Mike Mentzers HIT principles !

LOL nice one Stu! My missus (ex nurse) laughed her head off, says don't drink any alcohol whatever you do and get some sleep. Oh and she says your a prat for not reading the label before taking the tablets. She also said that prickly heat shouldn't hurt, just itches like fVck!

Get well soon mate, and the rest that have itchy parts!!

erm well I've just had two beers, and I'm ready to pass out.

WTF am I doing LMAO..

I hardly ever take medication and I'm hardly ever ill.

Oh well you live and learn don't you lol. :D

Stop being such a pussy stu!!! (please dont hit me!) Look at the bloody size of you, a bit of hot weather shouldnt be able to hurt you!!!

Youve only got to worry if youre my size, if i sweat for more than an hour, im in danger of dissappearing!!!

I took 9 Co-Codamol in about 20 mins because my tooth was hurting that much.

I was feelind drowsy too. Struggled to stay awake. But my life depended on it ;)

Oh man! I had prickly heat once. Having never had it before, I couldn't work out what the f*ck was going on. It /really/ itched bad. I thought someone'd dipped my T-shirt in itching powder for a bit of a laff! I'd say have a cool bath, but if you're feeling drowsy it's probably bad advice unless you can somehow keep your head propped up. The only other advice is sensible sh*t you already know... drink some damn water, not beer! :D
