I got mine today. Here is how it works

Take off the nose panel

Take off the MAS and airfilter

Put in Vijay's gadget and tighten the screw making it air tight.

Attach the air pump and let air in. I have heard dont go over 5psi as you are putting pressure on parts which dont usually have it. Let the air in and listen for hissing. Simple.

So what did I find?

I got a hissing from around battery area and I removed it to investigate.

Well I found the batter had been sitting on a hose for a very long one. Not guilty! I have never moved it. The hose was squashed and had a huge hole in it.

This is the hole.

This is the squashed bit

I cut the pipe about an inch below the squashed part and reattached it to the little solinoid it was plugged into. Sorted!

Any one thinking of getting one?

You should. Its a very good kit and is the only real way you can find leaks like this.

Well that's good news I suppose, glad you're happy with it. Did you warm up the car before testing for leaks? I read that it makes it easier for air to escape out of softer rubber hoses.

I was thinking that but its solid. All just surface rust. They unbolt anyways to put a new one on.

Got mine on Friday,I will probably use it when my car stops going over 180mph:D:D;)

CheerZ Vijay.

Very nice little device this but just so everyone using one is aware.

The primary intake part of the Z isn't normally used to being pressurised and any leaks may only require a tweak of hose clamps etc.

Best done on a warm / hot engine and don't apply too much pressure to the intake - 5psi or less as you risk damaging some seals!

You will notice that Stuart has only applied 4psi pressure to find his problem! ;)

Hello Stuart,

How long did it take to pressurize? I tried mine this afternoon and nothing. I think it's the jubilee clips on the hard pipes as they start to loose grip when tightening...........................

Probably about 3 or 4 seconds of letting the air through on the tyre pump. Do it for 2 seconds and then stop to see the pressure and to let the air settle and check the pressure, then another 2 seconds etc.

If its coming out that bad it maybe your hoses are leaking. Spray WD40 all round the join of the hoses and when you pressurise it, look for bubbles.

People use soapy water too.

Stuart

cheers Stuart, I'm gonna get new tougher jubilee clips tomorrow, then give it another go.

Vijay

how much are these kits and can you get me one?

cheers

...lee

Hello Lee,

£20 plus a fiver shipping. Email or PM me if you want one and I'll send you my details :)

Vijay

I've mailed the guy from the states who came up with this idea and he said you should be able to pump up to 20 psi, he's done so with no problems..........................................

Vijay

Be carefull! As I said in another post, this will also pressurise the crankcase breather system - you risk blowing your oil seals out if you get it wrong ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I would only probably go to 5psi or so (I'd start to loose bottle after that) :)

Vijay

Good boy :D;)
