factory keyless entry

Guys does anyone know where the antena for the keyless entry is, is it part of the radio antena or is it in the windshield. My remote used to work from far away now you have to be right beside the car for it to work. I replaced the battery in the remote with a new one but it didnt help

You might have to re-adjust the frequency. For this you will need a plastic screwdriver. When you open up the alarm keyfob you will find a small screw which you can adjust as you click the alarm key. It should only need very fine adjustment.

Some alarm systems are more susceptible to 'slipping' than others. I had a Sigma alarm on my last car that needed re-setting in hot weather. The Toad system I have on the zed can openthe car from the next town !

But the remote still works its just that now i have to be right beside the car for it to work. It used to work from almost 100 feet away

Could the battery in the keyfob be on its way out?

Maybe there isn't enough power to create a very strong signal, hence the reduced range?

Dave

battery may need replacing in the handset giving a weak signal, its a good idea to change them every 2 years anyway

Already changed the battery, it didnt help then off course the new battery might be dead but highly unlikely

as Nigel said then - it may need re-trimming with the screw in the handset.

I thought that was for programing a new remote
