Hi,

I am stuck between a 300ZX and a 3000GTO and wondered if anyone has had both and can constructively comment on which one they prefer and why - Thanks G.

test drive both and decide yourself, dont bother asking here you know what answer you will get tbh...

Gotta be the GTO muwahahaha ;)

I have driven both. In my humble opinion the GTO was a very smooth car, easy to drive very fast and chock full of gadgets. The 300zxTT was more of a drivers car, I felt that I was inputting to the car and getting decent feedback from it.

In a sense I would compare them to the two cars I have now one, my volvo S70 is a great car, excellent on motorways, around town, comfortable, luxurious and not slow but, feels the same at 40 as it does at 140. The zed I bought because I had to DRIVE it rather than sit in it and press the correct pedal.

Hope this helps

the thing i also notice about the gto is that there all the same, no individual styling, there pretty much kitted from factory and your stuck with the look, with the zed its style to your wallets content

very good :)

From what I have heard and read, the 3000GTO can be a heap of trouble when buying a 10-13 year old car. If the 4 wheel drive box goes (and many do apparently) you could be faced with over £3000 bill. Which, is a lot when you have just paid £5000 for the car.

Anyone got enough cash in their GT3 garage to get both and give them a whack over Trial Mountain? :-)

have both (well just sold the gto) and i mutch preffer the 300, the build quality seems to be better, especially inside the car, dash etc... doesnt feel as plasticy is the 300, they are both the same age too.

I sold my previous zed for a '94 UK 3000GT, and I only had it about 4 month's. They are very good to look at but dull to drive!

No tail sliding action like the zed, though depends on what you want lol, but I just found it totally boring.

Also they weigh a great deal heavier than the zed nearly 1800 Kg's, and this becomes apparent when cornering especially! Petrol consumption was far worse than the zed because of the sheer weight.

Had all the active aero's (which is a gimmick), active suspension (soft = jelly and hard = rattling teeth) lol.

It just was'nt as pleasant to live with not like me zed.

I was'nt too impressed with the interior either, good layout of the dash but all in grey plastic, and I mean plastic.

Hence I plummed for another UK TT zed......

sticking to what I like best lol.....

but it's up to you...:D ;)

ROFLMFAO :D

Funny you should say that....... me too :D;)

I'm a cunt and everyone knows it :D

Thanks Folks, not surprisingly the Z came out on top and those of you who've had both said the same thong about the GTO as was said on one of Clarkson's programs.

My wife prefers the look of the GTO I have seen some nice ones on the Auto Trader web site recently. I'll try both and let you know however the Z is rear wheel drive!!!

Unless you want to keep it open this thread can be closed:D

you won't be dissapointed...

As you say the GTo does look good as standard but I'd rather have a car that's feels exciting to drive rather than looks exciting to drive. Fortunatly you get both with the zed!!!!!;) :D :D

Tis true, the Zed is quite fantamagorical to drive with some 18's and a couple of inches lopped out of the ride.

To me the 3000GT is a bit weird.. kind of like a very powerful tub of lard. With flappy bits.

I'll second that!! :D;)

Not surprisingly I have found a similar thread on the GTO UK site and they, of course, prefer the GTO. Makes for interesting reading however I some how feel WW3 may be round the corner.

It appears that both cars have their +'s and -'s depending on your point of view and preferences. Both appear to be great Classic Jap supercars and I can't wait to see them at Billing

G.:D

Save your pennies and get an R34 Skyline!:D

A skyline does not even come close to comparing with the zed or a gto, its an ugly dog of a car, even though it is a fast car, who would want it.

agree with u bout the older1's but......

The new V-spec, now i would def buy that if i had enough £££ it's not even in the same class.....way above, that is one mean, sexy bitch!!

The R34 GTR is 0-60 in 5.2. Same as the Z, and that is with 4 wheel drive which will help with the pulling off. After 60mph the Skyline would not keep up with the acceleration of a Z.

Round corners though, thats a completely different matter.
