I'm wanting to change the radiator in my 300, (1991 twin turbo auto), but have found it to be different to the diagram in the Z32 manual (LC-13).

Where the diagram has the two 'A/T oil cooler hose' (in and out) joining the radiator down one side.

My rad has these two pipes on BOTH ends of my current radiator, with the two top pipes joining into one in a fork, and then the pipe going off towards the engine, similarly with the bottom pipes. On checking the current radiator the flow form the top of one side, comes out the bootom of that side, and the same for the other side, (ie seems to be two separate cooling sides for the A/T oil)

Has anyone seen/heard of this before ?

Was the radiator design changed at any time?

I believe the radiators differ between certain models. ie between US & Europe & perhaps Japan.

However, not having a manual gearbox I can't be certain but I don't think they have oil coolers, whereas the auto's have part of the main radiator dedicated to to autobox oil cooler.

Have a look at page LC-13 in the online manual. Link is over to theleft in the Tech. Sec.

Yup, have looked at page LC-13, and my rad is like the one of the turbo diagram with the auto pipes. Except that I have a set of the auto pipes on each end of my radiator. Checking the flow through them shows the oil to go top to bottom on both sides. So looks like it just has double the oil cooling of the one in diagram, but I can;t find any info about radiators like this.

Is yours a Nissan part ? There are some non-Nissan upgrades available.

I'm not sure, it's a Calsonic radiator, but I can;t seem to find anywhere that sells them. All the places I found on the web for Calsonic don't sell to the public...

Is this a Nissan supplier do you know ?

Is the standard radiator the one with just one radiator tank oil cooler, rather than the two which my current one has.

Never heard of Calsonic, maybe someone elsse can help.

Believe the standard auto radiator has a strip up each side which acts as the oil cooler. Must make a pretty poor job of it though if that is already heated to 90C by the water in the radiator, and it's up the sides which receives less airflow and less benefit from the fan ...

Calsonic is a major parts supplier for Nissan (I think it's even owned by Nissan)

Almost all Non EURO-spec Z32's have Calsonic radiators/oil-coolers

To my knowledge the EURO-specs have NISMO coolers
