Howdy-dudeys!

I've got a short-wheelbase TT and am thinking that it would be rather nice to release those extra horses tied up in the cats! My question is, who out there has done this? Have you had any problems, e.g. with emissions in the m.o.t.? Is this a simple enough operation that any, ahh...hem, monkey exhaust outlet can do, or is it best to take it to someone who has experience with this kinda thing?

Cheers!

P.s. And just what is everyone doing out there on the net at this time of night??!! Surely there's some bar out there calling your name?! I'm stuck at work till 11.30 - that's my excuse!! And I'll stick with it! The fact I've got no mates.......!!

It's a piece of cake!!

All you need to do is drop the downpipes off and go for attack, attack lol.. Have no mercy and smash the guts outta them, the cats that is...Nice result in the way of sound and performance, plenty on this subject so just do a search......

Or you can get pukka de-cat pipes for £200 squids, think AndyZ has some?

cheers Jon.....;)

Cheers Jon!

Sounds quite violent, but I'm sure it's nothing that me and my mate Mr. Sledgehammer can't handle!! U get any problems with the emissions at M.o.t. time?

Simon

Hi,

I thought it was well worth it, and the car sounds much better!

If you've got a pre-92 you should pass emissions fine. Sometime in 92 the emission tests were changed that means no-cats would fail. (The car has to be hot to get a better result!)

Not very often you hear of turbo seals failing due to removing the cats, less back pressure. It's a risk, but I recon quite a small one. :o

now, go and find that hammer!
