You'll pay shipping and import duty and then VAT on the whole lot. :(

I forgot the "handling fee" too, which will probably be around £10 and is charged because the courier company are nice enough to deal with customs for you!

The import duty should be between 3 and 5% for car parts, I think.

No import duty under £18, Im not sure about the vat, I think its vat free too under £18.

I know people who import dvd's..........no vat or duty

Yeah, sorry I forgot about that. I assumed that it would only be worthwhile importing from Courtesy if the order was a lot more than £18.

Some smaller packages will get through customs without charges if they're either sent via normal mail, or if the paperwork on the outside of the package shows a value of under £18, or that it's a gift.

I'm not sure what happens if customs open up the package and find that it either isn't a gift, or it's obviously worth more than £18 though!

I know some people have imported stuff duty & VAT free from the states using that method (mentioning no names), but I'm pretty sure that Courtesy wouldn't do that for you...

Also if it is 2nd hand you dont pay duty on it. Or you shouldnt do anyway.

Not strickly true. anything over $32 is liable to duty!

Quite unbelievable isn't it?

I've been hammered for duty on a few things I've bought through eBay.

I got creamed for £87 squids for about $500 dollars worth of bits from Courtesy...Still works out whey cheaper than Nissan Uk though....
