I know that our air-con systems need to be filled with some updated equivalent, but......

I have aquired a couple of cans of R12. Do you think its worth keeping for when my air-con does need a re-fill, or should I just 'dispose' of it?

Cheers!

it is illegal to fill any system with R12 now, so unless you can find an unsavoury type to fill it for you its not much use

Hmm, I've also acquired a couple of cans, plus a can of lubricant. Not sure how easy it is to get it from the can to the system though ....

As Paul said R12 is illegal to use as it contains CFC`s ( global warming cause etc) not sure for an individial but garage`s and air con engineer`s can face a fine of up to £20,000 if found to be using R12! I read this in last months garage trade mag.

Oh well, guess I'll be looking for a bon fire or BBQ and standing well back!!!:D :D ;)

send me a can of it cos I have the connectors to fill em with.

Not that I in any way condone any kind of illegal activity, but the guy who recharged my volvo the other week said that R12 would be worth a lot of money to him.. Unsavoury type obviously :D

Yup

there's lots of older "supercars" cant use anything else so what do you think happens?

Better they get topped up and used.
