I've got a local engineering comapany to make me one of these up and wondered if anyone else is interested in them. The only thing I have asked them to change, is the size of the flange so you have something to pull the thing out, as it's a snug fit.

 

If anyone is interested, they're £20 plus what ever the shipping cost is.

You remove the AFM and plug this in. Pump it with a tyre inflator and you should be able to hear any hissing.

 

This is a quote from an Aus site:

 

"find and rectify boost/ vacuum leaks and regain lost power, many owners have been surprised to find air leaks and in some cases these vacuum leak/s can be causing unstable idle. This devise is used via the removal of your AFM (air flow meter) and the insertion of the intake plug in it's place. Once secured you add compressed air into the valve pressurising your engine and then check for air leaks and correct accordingly".

I would have bought one but I already have one and they do work. Already found my leak and now finally got round to fixing it after about a year.

these testers - should they pressurise the complete engine (all around the oil in block) or just intake side?
