Of course the irony of all of this is that the first casualties in the last Gulf war were British soldiers hit by friendly fire from other British soldiers lmffao.

Anyone been watching the documentry on bbc Sunday at 9pm?

three weeks its been on now and in all three cases its involved friendly fire with the British

yeah -seems the brits have more reasons to fear from the Yanks than the enemy FFS:rolleyes:

This is one of the great things about the BRITS (Put my flame suite on)

Waz, true enough what you say, didnt see the massive amount of exposure in the press about us shouting our own did we? Nope, but when the yanks did it it was everywhere!

Still its all pretty sh1tty and you gotta admire the lads and lasses that go out and do that for a living. Every credit to em.

of course you have to admire them hell if you do get around to watching that programme.

BBC 2 i think 9pm on sunday night, it just shows you how dangerous it is over there and how easy it is to get things wrong.

u realing r wanting fight - the Yanks kill more ppl through friendly fire than the UK troops - FACT !

Hmmm, and what about the US propaganda machine going into overdrive about the female soldier getting shot/stabbed/imprisioned etc. Story is changing a little now eh ? ....

Maybe she was the map reader (joke of course)

Americans simply have a shoot first ask questions later policy.

"The first casualty in war is always the truth" - Winston Churchill

maybe it's also because the yanks have more sophisticated weapons than us

i don't dislike the yanks in general;)

The problem lies with the theory of 'surgical' strikes, and the amount of media there is now.

In previous conflicts 'whoever', would simply flatten an entire region! Killing enemy soldiers, friendly soldiers, civilians etc. But in those conflicts the whole thing wasn't televised live around the planet!

It's about time we faced up to the fact that ALL WAR sucks butt big time and shit always happens. Always has had. Just it was easier to cover it up.

Also the expectation in the technology is not justified IMO. Yes it sounds fantastic, but I know my home PC screws up enough times, and that's without it being thrown out of a bomb bay at 0.9 mach and hurtling through the air for 20 miles!
