Not to threadjack but.. :D

Anyone know any good insurers who'll do Z's on classic car policies? (over 25, garaged, limited mileage) that don't use your NCB? (I.e. so it could be a second car)

Oh btw- Try Bell Direct if you want cheap insurance.

Just don't try and buy it back if you crash..

I've got my Jap spec TT insured with Heritage classic car insurance.

Cost £497 fully comp based on the car being garaged, limited mileage of 5000 pa. Its a proper classic policy and includes legal cover, breakdown recovery, etc. I'm 28 and live in Edinburgh.

Excess is £200 (I think) and £100 for glass.

I run the zed as a second car and have full no claims on my everyday car (ford mondeo).

I tried a number of classic car insurance companies such as firebond, performance direct, norwhich union etc. Most wouldn't touch the zed on a classic policy or quoted £1200 + for a years insurance.

One word of warning though. If you cancel the premium at any time you won't get any sort of refund.

Hope this helps.

All the best.

Martin.

Also try Lifesure if you're after a classic car policy with limited mileage (5K) and can garage the car overnight. They were by far the cheapest for me. Unlike some other classic policies, they're happy to cater for modified Jap imports. Mine is an import, modified to Stage 3ish, full NCB, London postal code - £498 fully comp.

Lifesure have said they will not insure the car due to its age (Import 1991????????????)

Will ring them

The people who work for insurance brokers are fikin useless!!

Its a disgrace how 2 people can ask the same question and be given a different answer

its happened to me before too.

They do mine (although it's a '92) and it's a very good deal.

Have just been sent some junk mail, (probably because of my web site), may be worth a try :-

Yep, mines a 92 as well. I arranged it yesterday and the criteria was that it had to over 10 years old. Spoke to a chap called Bill.
