Sorry to any women on this site, but I am sick to death of hearing the boring argument that women are safer drivers, when 75% of the time where I have to swerve to miss a car or change speed on the motorway because some one is changing lanes without looking, its a woman.

Let me give you an example, and I knew she was going to do what she did from the start.

I was at a set of traffic lights at a cross roads in town, usually 1 lane each way but there where 2 lanes in my direction, right lane turns right only and the left is straight on and turn left.

The lights where on red, I was in the right lane turning right, a women in the left lane wanting to go straight on and there where no cars on the junction infront of us. While the lights are on red I see a fire engine blue lights on, flashing headlights, sirens on and also honking the horn coming up the road towards us. The lights where still on red, and I thought well, just stay here because what ever direction they want to go they have plenty of room. Half way up the road the fire engine starts to indicate right, so it will turn in front of us to our left. The indicator is clear as day and they indicated for about 10 seconds before the junction, so they gave plenty of notice.

The traffic lights for us then turn green just as the fire engine is approching. Guess what the woman in the car did. Nearly causing an accident where she would have come easliy worse off.

Yes know what you mean! but to be fair incompatant driving does effect both sexes..but if I dare women as a rule are less confident (my wife agrees) and take less chances which ofetn makes them look to more confident drivers as pests.

Most annoying I find is the lack of lane disapline at traffic islands,

Regularly I see and suffer from been cut up at large islands in my home town, the typical senerio is the "other" driver approaches the two lane island and is intent on taking say the third exit (a right turn almost) and does this by taking the outside lane all the way around till exiting! undertaking traffic on the inside lane that are about to merge left to exit and then woosh you get them cut across the front of you from your nearside, and if you beeb at them THEY usually give the the "V" sign back...priceless!!

and yes as far as that is concerned it usually is women drivers!

(BUT NOT ALWAYS)

I know.

Men tend to take stupid risks and cause accidents like that, women dither or dont pay as much attention as they should or misjudge distances and cause accidents that way.

This woman last night obviously wasnt thinking ahead and went when the light went green, paying no attention to the huge red, flashing, loud fire engine which was about to turn infront of her.

Maybe she was too busy checking her make up or hair in the rearview to notice something as unimportant as a fire engine with lights and sirens!

;)

LOL

what happens when you get women drivers at a mini roundabout? Ans - they all sit there and look at each other! they give way to the right and the left, funny.

what happens when women drivers pass parked cars ? Ans- they give at least 8feet of clearance and force oncoming traffic to swerve into the curb.

what happens when women drivers are following a slow moving tractor? Ans - they cause huge tailbacks because theyre terrified of overtaking .

Just my honest observations - sorry to all competent women drivers.

Sometimes they panic and loose common sense behind the wheel.

On one occasion some four months ago on a dual carriage near where I live a lady driver paniced and lost all sense of observation and pretty much sight in truth. It was at a traffic light on red. She was in front of me on the right hand lane with no one in front and a big red bus was on her left.

Whilst we were waiting for the lights to change a fire engine with siren on and lights flashing approached from my rear. As it came to stop behind me the lights changed to green. Instead of going straight on and moving to the left lane and myself in turn would do like wise she decided to move directly left whilst the bus was moving also.

Of course, she hit the bus with her rear side. God only knows how she could not have seen the bus- it's red and it had been next to her for a good 2 minutes!!! The sad thing is that even if the bus had stayed stationary she would have still hit it!!!! She had turned that sharply.

When she started the manoeuvre, I was in absolutely shock and disbelief. How could anyone with eyes not notice the bus was in the intended heading. I think the bus driver was more shocked though.

This is the stupidest driving that I've observed to date.

I had some soppy bird in front of me on the motorway last night. There was a lorry in the middle lane and she would not overtake it. She was doing 15mph below the speed limit in lane 3, and each time she drew level with the rear of the the lorry she slammed her bloody brakes on!!!

After about 5 miles of this dicking around I gave her a double flash of full beam and a blast of the horn and she nearly crashed the car. No sodding idea of what was going on around her......TYPICAL!!

Oh, I forgot the best one that happened to me........

I was sitting at red traffic lights on my Honda CBR600 on a Friday afternoon in August at Chelsea embankment. I saw a car approaching at a hell of a speed behind me, and just as I thought "they're not gonna stop in time" she slammed into the back of me. Her front wing ripped off the side of my fairing, ripped off both rider and passenger footrests, severly bruised my leg and caused the bike to fall on it's side, damaging that side as well.

She drove through the junction against the red light, causing absolute chaos! I picked up my bike and chased her, having to dangle my leg in the breeze as there was no where to put it.

When I caught up with her she denied hitting me. Told me "what are you worried about it's only a motorbike!"

And do you know why she caused all this s h i t? BECAUSE HER FAVOURITE SHOP WAS ABOUT TO CLOSE!!!!!

in actual fact men and women have the same number of accidents. However women tend to claim for scrapes and bumps becasue they are not as good at parking as men. Not being sexist, the female brain works differently to the mens. (it doesn't - hahaha only joking). Women are not as good at tasks relating to spatial awareness.

Men tend to make big claims for write offs.

You could argue that when a man crashes a car they do the job properly. But I think it is more to do with men being more aggressive on the whole and their accidents tend to be at higher speeds.

That is why women pay less for insurance. it is all down to finance. But thinking about it. I don't know many women who I feel comfortable in a car with when they are driving. In fact I can't think of many fellas either. I must just be nervous.

I've got to join in here! :D :D

Try being a female in a sports car and then see just how dangerous men can be!

I swear that I suffer from invisibility syndrome as men leap before the Zed desperate to be in front, or overtake on stupidly blind bends or in front of oncoming traffic because they can't bear to be behind a female. Or the best ones - the Nova and Saxo brigade, arms shaking on the steering wheel as they desperately attempt to overtake....

It's pathetic.

Bad driving affects both sexes. Men tend to be over-confident and annoying, women tend to dither and flap about the place.

For example, this morning, I had a bloke in a Mercedes attempting to read my chassis number from behind. I couldn't see his bonnet he was that close behind me. It wasn't as if I was blocking him, either, as there were 4 cars in front of me. But noooooo....he couldn't drive sensibly, like everyone else.

Hehehe had a woman pull into lane 3 on me this mornin - I was doin ~90mph, she was doin 65mph - I really couldn't understand why she did it, until I noticed she was doin her fucking make-up in the mirror  Cars are seriously dangerous machines, yet they get treated like some god given right. Sorry, if you aint fit to drive, confident enough to make reasonable progress, prepared to devote 100% concentration to what is going on around you, then IMO you do NOT deserve to have a driving license. They don't give firearms licenses out willy nilly so why driving licenses?

Whinge over :D

I'm sure I get cut up/pulled out on/nearly hit etc more by blokes than women..

And the whole not seeing fire engines thing doesn't just seem to be a woman problem - it seems that 99.99% of drivers don't notice vehicles with flashing lights and sirens.. The number of times I've pulled over only to be overtaken by someone with a police car stuck to their back bumper because they won't get out of the way.. What are they, blind and deaf??

Not that I can talk - I did nearly hit a Shogun yesterday.. We both started to move into the middle lane (me from the inside, him from the outside) at the exact same time, and both made it about half way into the middle lane before I decided that perhaps, on reflection, the inside lane was a nicer place to be..

(And yes, I am a red blooded male (well, the red blooded part could be debatable, I suppose).. I just believe that bad driving is a genderless problem ;))

LOL @ Duff and Ajay throwing stones in the Glass house. :)

I understood it to be that womens claims were on average lower than those of a bloke. Not that they have less accidents, that's *****xs.

Some blokes drive more aggressively and have an inflated sense of their competance and capabilities. Some girls seem to wibble around with no thought or awareness of what the hell is going on more than 5 feet in front of their rear view mirror.

Have you noticed though, that the girls are getting increasingly aggressive but still have no idea what is going on? I don't think it will be long before the insurance discounts for women become a thing of the past......PSYCHOS!!:D ;)

The pathetic thing is though, that for all their swerving in and out of lanes (both genders), carving people up and slamming on brakes they end up about 1/2 a cars length further on than they were.

Not at all.

Depending on which version of the story you have heard (and I've heard 4 differing versions  ), allow me to tell you from someone who was there. It was the SIDE of the van, not the rear.

But I couldn't find any pictures of the side :(

Oh fair enough, then. :p

But really, dragging my accident up was a bit low.... :(

You are NOT going in the lake, you agreed to do a live sex show with ChrisC:eek:

The worst drivers I've ever experienced are old folk, especially old women, they're absolutely deadly.

I've been driving through the village where I live & on numerous occasions, an old dear will just pull straight out in front of you causing you to have to brake & swerve to avoid them.

My brother was driving along on his motorbike once & some old dear reversed straight out of her drive in front of him. He managed to swerve but ended up coming off the bike & sliding sideways down the road.

Not only that, they do half the speed limit, dither all over the road, don't indicate, go in the wrong lane. you name it they do it!

People over a certain age should be made to have their eyes tested and also their reaction time.

I could drive better whilst pissed that some of these people.

:(
