Well, I've just spent 12 god damn hours installing the new speakers into the Zed. I ordered the Alpine SXE-1725S for the front and SXE-4625S for the rear.
They made a mistake and sent me the SXE-1750S for the front which is £30 dearer but , suprise surprise, I won't be returning them. However, these come with separate tweeters so I'll have to make a hole in the door panel for them which I didn't really want to do but since they're 'freebee' I can't complain.
Unfortunately, none of these speakers have the same fixing points as the existing- just my bloody luck. I've spent most of the day making MDF spacers for the front. What a pain.
So far I've only managed to fit in ONE speaker. Well, two if you count the tweeter.
Can anyone suggest a way of fitting the rears in other than MDF spacers???? Or is there also a simpler way to fit the front speakers too????
I did manage to sort out the annoying knocking sound when I close the driver's door cuased by a loose black plastic central locking thing.
