Does anyone find that their idle speed goes up a bit (about 1000+rpm) after a run in this weather ? Mine did on Sunday after 60 miles but was back to 750rpm this morning.

Cheers

My idle goes up and down all the time depending on whether i have been sitting in traffic, driving on the M-way, the weather, air-con off or on etc. varies between 750 -1200. I did have a problem once where it kept on going up to 1700 rpm in traffic but that went after about 1 year! Also had a problem with a very lumpy idle and poor performance when cold. Lynn road motors in Ilford had not put the air filter on properly and hence the airflow meter was not registering!

You could also try checking for corrosion on the contacts od the throttle postion sensor as this will cause eractic idle.

Cheers

Sorry should read of the throttle position sensor

(Less drink better typing)

The a/c will make the idle rise about 200rpm.

The electic fan will also make it rise.
