I have been getting a slipping clutch recently and was gonna change it for an uprated one but someone mentioned that on 1990-1991 models the master cyclinder was poo and if you change it to the later one it can stop the slipping ! Anyone know anything about this andd if its worth me uprating to the later master cyclinder before getting an uprated clutch to see if it is causing it !

Any help greatly appreciated !

Cant see that the master cyl is gonna cause it to slip. might be worth trying to adjust it but that only helped me for a short time.

looks like a new clutch is gonna be on the cards one way or another

speak to Smithy about RPS uprated ones ;)

I found a service bulletin and recall from Nissan about this and it states that the earlier 1990-1991 Clutch Master Cyclinders are poo and the fault causes the clutch to slip, just wanted to know if anyone else had this and changed to the later one with success !

I want an uprated clutch anyway so if anyone has one they don't need for cheap I would be very interested ?

I think the older ones have a smaller cylinder which somehow is more prone to heating making slipping more likely. I read about the recall and wondered if that was the cause of my slipping problem but no one seemed to know anything about it.

Got an RPS clutch jobby and looks a very good bit of kit.

Works great... but as the day goes on it gets worse. If i've made a few journeys in one day by the end of it it will splip bad, and by bad i mean, if i drop the clutch at tickover rather than stall it will just slip and very slowly speed me up. Hills are a nightmare, just hope u dont have to stop and then re accelerate on one as its a touch embarrasing.

Anywho there must be a reason that all the US cars were called back and changed...

Mine slips all the time now even in first or second gear if I put my foot right down ! I have adjusted the pedal so it engages fully but still slips !

I want my power back !
