Does anyone know much about the interior clock on a 300zx 1992 import?

Mine does not work, the drivers handbook refers to a fusebox behind the hood release lever, that must be for a UK version. All I can see is a fusebox in the engine bay.

Anyone got any suggestions about the clock ?

Thanks

John

If the clock is broken, have a look at AndyP's site http://www.300zx.org.uk

There is a "how-to" on it somewhere and if you can't be bothered, then Andy will do it for you for a very small and highly reasonable fee!

John,

In addition to the above, there is a fuse box in the drivers footwell, on the right hand side as you sit in the car, but it is way in there :) also has a cover on it. Get your head in there, you will find it. all else fails, use the force :) it is there

I think thats one of the little quirks of the Zed clock mine regularly resets itself, you will notice if you press the reset it only resets the mins, so your clock is a buggered a mine!!!

Good news is its a kick up the arse to pull it out and put a boost controller in its place;)

Bad news dont go to nissan for a new one, as macca posted on another thread;

LOL how about part number 25820-40P00 digital clock £175+VAT

That's just a sign of a knackered clock, easily fixed. Have done a couple of dozen at least.

Hi Andy,

I took the clock apart, but there is only one circuit board inside. And the 2 resistors are number R100 & R101, are these the ones ?

The part number on the outside of the clock is:

25820 40P00

229-A 30062

These resistors look awfully small, I dont know if I trust myself on such a small board. What do you charge for soldering them ?

Thanks

John

Don't waste your time replacing the resistors, that is seldom the problem. Just resolder every joint on the board, paying special attention to the links between the double sided board, the display and the power connections.

I cant find any information that suggests that the clock is on one of the fuses, (either the fuse panel in the car or the one under the hood) - does anyone know if the clock is on a fuse ?

Thanks

John

if i put boost guage in there instead will i get instant turbos:D

Send it to Andy in a jiffy bag with a first class stamp. It's not worth the hassle.:)
