beware if you've had illegal (too dark) tints done on youre car.

i heard on the news the other day that the police are to be issued with light meters to test your windows - too dark & they will order you not to drive it!! (as well as giving you a fine :( )

Not disagreeing with you, but it has been ilegal for years and they havent done anything about it.

Of course, dark glass is far more of a threat to society than muggers, murders and rapists etc so I am all for the crack down on it.

indeed it had been for years, but they are trying to crack down on it now.

rules are any car after 1985..

windscreen must transmit 75% of light, all other windows 70%.

You sure about the all other window bit ???

I thought it was windscreen no tint and others 70%.

I thought the rear could be as dark as you like, if this isn;t the case apart from me being fooked, how would limo's and van's get away with it ?

Surely there isn't oine rule for them and one for us.

I've been told by a police officer that the law on tinting only applies to the front side windows and the windscreen.

I've been meaning to remove the dark tint from my front side windows ever since he told me that, but I haven't got round to it yet. :D

The police have had light meters to check the tint level for quite a while too.
