Ihave just disconnected the large rubber hose that goes to the top of the radiator (on the left of the rad). And it has snapped part of the plastic pipe off inside the rubber hose! Ive managed to get the plastic bit out of the rubber hose, but i need to know if i can bond the plastic pipe back on to he rad? Or is there a way of replacing the plastic pipe all together?! Failing that i will have to buy a new radiator, just for the sake of 2p worth of plastic!! Could somebody help me please, and recommend a good bonding/ or glue for the job

thats a common problem as plastic rads get older - the plastic gets brittle & breaks easily.

i wouldnt trust any repair, it would be a weak point that could fail at any point & cause more problems than its worth.

Ive put a couple of posts up for a 2nd hand rad! Do you know how much, roughly im looking at paying?

Macca told me MJP do the end tanks for about £30 and thats all you need.

Hang on ill find the thread.

Also how much has snapped off, if its only a bit at the endyou might be able to still grip it if you use a hose clip.

Also be careful with that water pipe you took off £40 at nissan!!!

There is litteraly about 2 centimetes of plastic pipe to grip onto! Not really enough, so ill check out mjp. Thanks for the help!

I think my car has a similar problem. But the mechanic says I need a whole new rad - cud it be I only need a new end tank ?

Yes and no,Yes all you need is the end tank that only costs £30,but you will find that recore specialists wont fit a new tank to a second hand core as they would not give you any warrenty if it leaked.

Thanks MAC - just wanting more confidence in my garage ;)
