Ive noticed that the stock wheels appear to be handed n/s and o/s.

I had new rear tyres today and the guy put the n/s rear wheel back on the rear o/s and viceversa. So now the shapes between the five spokes are pointing forward on the front wheels and backward on the rear wheels. They all pointed forward before.

Not that it makes much difference but i was wondering which way they were supposed to be pointing ie. when the car left the nissan factory?

Have a look at yours now!

im not sure, but on each whell it will have a R or an L indicating which side of the car they should be on,

you should make sure they are on the correct way or handling will be impacted.

On the spokes there is a side with a flat edge and a side with a sloping side The sloping side goes to the front so when you drive forwards it slices the air ;)

Think its something to do with the brake cooling, id bet them put back right otherwise people will keep pointing it out to you at meets!!!;)

Srrae,

nice pic lol, the tyre guy put my back wheels on same as that pic with the slopin bit at the front , so he's got lucky! It makes sense now u've said that about slicin the air, thanx.

b19rks, my wheels get hot as fook after a hard session, i cant even touch them (why do i do that lol) but wheels either way round i think they'd get equally as hot , although maybe more air would go in towards the disc with the slopin bit at the back but thats the wrong way round

:D

If your wheels are getting really hot you may have a sticky piston on the brake calliper too!!! mine have just started squaking a bit and when i touched the wheels they were quite hot, so im going to get my head in there sunday and sort it out.

Anyone would think i enjoy taking the damn thing apart!!!;)

Look closeley at the text on the wheels. Theay are marked L and R if proper OEM wheels

You are lucky. Two weeks after I got the Zed, wife wrecked a back wheel (plus the HICAS) on ice. Bloody insurance garage put the wrong handed wheel on so I have two left hand wheels at the back. Don't notice for several years so too late to chase them over it.

Hey Mike , just looked at your 'before billing' pics,

your front wheels are on the wrong side aswell!

Your right they were, that was not long after i bought it ive scince had them put on right!!!!

But whos mike???

The wheel police have just been and checked and mine are the wrong way round

Got 30 mins to swap them over or i've got to attend the Jimmey Cricket course on Left v Right.:D

Thanks guys.

Plus just found the front pads need a change so was all for the best.

if you have diercetional tyres make sure that the tread pattern is the correct way round for the side you fit the wheel too!

Ahhh this explains my problem - I drove in reverse at 50mph for a couple of hours and my car got hot ;)
