I've just ordered some speakers for my Zed. 6"x4" for the rear and 6.5" for the front.
I intend to use the existing speaker cables and have already bypassed the rear speaker amp with the existing wires. Is there a great deal to be gained by installing new thicker speaker wires???
The speakers I've bought are Alpine SXE-1725S (front) and SXE-4625S (rear) which are not top quality. I did this purposely as I don't want to have a mobile disco. I love listening to loud music and have a definate inclination to turning it up until the speakers start to show distortion. I'm hoping that the new ones will be better than the stock speakers. I'm sure it can't be worse as my rears have ripped themselves from their paper edging and the front are just crap. Mind you I don't personally believe in spending masses amount of money on incar entertainment as I don't spend much time travelling and I'm a believer of central position for perfect viewing and listening pleasure. I'm one of the annoying ones who always has to sit exactly on centre near the back in cinemas.
If I had a Mclaren F1 then I would spend serious money on incar audio. Mind you the F1's engine and exhaust might be more pleasing to the ear.
