Fitting a performance chip doesn't have much effect on its own - you need to fit it in conjunction with boost jets or a boost controller.

Do a search...

I can understand how you missed it, but I think that the original post said it was an NA

mmmmmmmmmmm you must forgive Pete i think this time,as i think he will be very soon, runnin 14 psi and chip upgrade,it takes over the mind:eek: :D :D ;) :p

Cully,

The NA does have a chip.

Your standard chip is designed to give the best of all possible situations, by putting in an aftermarket chip, which is designed to suit the fuel, ambient temp etc your car will be using, it makes your engine mapping more specific and so more efficient. This is generally quoted to give a 10% increase in BHP. It is generally accepted that you will do the pipe and induction kit before you do the chip, thus the 10% gain is applied to all existing mods and you dont have to get the chip remapped to cope with any changes the pipe/induction causes.

chips

I am sure there will be someone who has more/ better info, but this is what I have gleaned from my looking into it. There will also be people who will say "Why bother on an NA?" but thats just the Turbo elitists

Blimey, quick to hang you there, aye pete?:D

Yeah Cully,

Tell your missus its a requirement, you have to do it, or they take the car off you:D

"JWT ECU Upgrade, TT & NA (90-94 Z32) $1,080.00"

Blinkin' FLIP!!!

Takes the PI55 doesn't it?????

How can they justify prices like that, I presume thats xchange price too.

I'm in the wrong business!!LOL

I s'pose they charge what people will pay. If it doesn't sell drop the price until it does. So by now that's an *acceptable* price! Their justification is probably the time they spent finding a better, but safe map. It does take the P155 tho, cos it's not like they've put any additional work into making it perform any better lately (have they?).

Getting someone who knows what they're doing to do a custom map for your car has got to be the way to go. Or learn how it all works and try sorting something out for yourself.

Agreed, DIY is OK if you have the kit required to do it safely. I just fee sorry for the mortals of this land that don't and have to pay the sort of money that Blitz and JWT ask.

With so many different mods that people do to Z's custom mapping has got to be the best way to get the most from them.

Shame the Eprom is such a bitch to remove but once its socketed, its done for ever.

I'm still waiting for the Zemulator from Ashley Powers, having a few development issues I believe!!!
