Wheels - HELP!

So it seems that my beautiful Volk Racing Forged Alloys are for the scrap heap after speaking to every wheel refurbishment outfit I can find

(including Pristine, Ace Alloys, Pemberton Tyres.......)

I was delighted to hear that the replacement Rays wheels are about £1200 a piece (plus tyres!), so I need to find a cheaper alternative.

I know there are many of you who know good cheap places for new alloys - all tips greatly received,

but I'd love to hear from anyone who has 4 tasty wheels for sale. My strong preference would be for 17", but all serious replies considered.

Many thanks.

Have just seen this ad in local trade it:

Too expensive for me.

I phoned to check they are still available.

Tel.01453 767626 or 07789686978 Calne wiltshire.

Might appeal to you?

No photo avaiable though.

They are lightweight forged 3 peice split rims.

Most refurbers won't touch even 2 peice split rims, but 3 peice are a definite no-no. Apparently, I can't get new seals for them and they need to be split to repair the polished outers and to respray the painted inners.

I'm told that the chance of a reseal working without the appropriate part is less than 30% and so no-one will touch them.

Shame, cause they're quite nice wheels!

Nigel,

These are in the latest Z Club for sale list

"300ZXTT 18” wheels, £500 with tyres.

Paula on 07813 175655 (Bournemouth). *1"

Long way away, but then again....

Can you actually split em? Some Volks alloys are actually welded even thought they ae 3 piece, as they are notorious for not sealing

If you split em you could always reuse the seal and silicone em back together. Not the best job in the world, but would do it. Any problems then just tig weld em along the back to ensure the never leaked again!!

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Even if he did (which he didn't ;) ) - why would that matter? A lottery winner gets their £millons for free (alright... one pound) - should he give them away for free??

Is every present you ever got worthless?

Well I'm looking at wheels at the moment - not easy if you want something special.

Extreme and R Tech had very little choice. The problem of caliper clearance + split sizes for f/r makes it even more difficult.

So I looked at Z Centre web.

One that we really liked - Luke wasn't using the make any longer because there was a problem with one of their range. But he told me today that in a few weeks time there'll be lot of new models on his website.

So happy hunting.

Geoff.
