Has anyone done or considered having the starter as a push button? So you turn the key to the 'ON' and then press a button to engage the starter motor? I'd love that - anyone got any ideas or know anyone who has done it. Surely it cant be a big job to do?

How's about one of the rally style ones - a dirty great red plastic key in the middle of the dashboard.

Bilky,

Ryan (SeedyRom) from TT.net has done it - a EAzy job and he has a web site that provide the buttons which look nice.

Shoot him a mail and he will hook you up.

sorry but i fail to see the point, the nice people at nissan have already made a key starter, so all you have to do is put the key in the starter and turn it, then the car starts, so why have a button to do that and bypass, it? you still need the key?

Easy enough job, take an ignition feed to the switch then from the switch to the wire that controls the starter at the back of the barrel.

You will get a switch from Maplins or similar, and should be about 45 min job start to finish.
