Is the GT41 the new GT 40?

I thought they car calling it the Ford GT40 as where the old one I saw was just called the GT40. They wanted to emphersis on the name Ford.

It looks exactly the same too doesnt it?

Hmmm... not at all sure. Haven't seen much more of it other than the pic and headline on the front of the latest Top Gear mag. It said there that it was a concept at the moment, but they deffo called it the GT-41. Looked pretty much like the -40, but imagine it re-styled with Ford's "Nu Edge" philosophy

God knows how it'll eventually turn out, if it even comes to anything.

2005 it said on my regular ford forum.

might have to trade the cossie in for one, plenty of time to save :D

i dont think they have decided on the name yet.

GT40 was the preffered name though, even though its taller than 40" ;)

THEY WERE THE MOST COMMON CAR AT LEMANS THIS YEAR :D

The new one is gonna be called the "Ford GT" as they no longer have the rights to the GT40 name.

I thought it was always just the 'GT' and was nicknamed the GT40 because it was 40" high.

One of our local 'wothys' has an original Gulf GT40, not one of the actual lemans cars but one of the few made to similar spec for the road... I believe he has 540hp... and quite light... it sounds ridiculous I know but to see it going along the road makes me feel all goose-pimply... sound, look and just road presence... I think I have too much petrol in my veins because it really does 'do it' for me... a truly great car...

Yup it will be my next car I reckon!

I can't see why people would want to pay the silly asking price (around £120K?) for the new GT when you can get a faster replica for about £25K?

1. Probably because they can afford it

2. Because it is about more than going fast and looking good
