Open the boot and its under the big plastic cover which goes the suspention mount. If you look one side plastic cover is bigger the other. Its under the bigger bit on the right.

Stuart

Nah, in the 2+2 its under rear seats on the drivers side

Sorry, yeah the ABS ECU is under the back seat behind the driver. The actuator is in the boot

No wonder i could not find the firkin thing just now [took all the bloody boot panels off too DOH!!]

cheers back to the garage again b4 i go how does the seat come out

cheers

Dave

Sorry guys......I think your wrong here!

If it's a UK spec 2+2 then its behind one of the rear passenger seat side panels (left side I think)

Remove reat sear and door trim and pull the panel and you'll see it!

I think Steve's right for uk cars.. That's where the fuel pump controller is and there was another little box, i THINK it's the abs ecu.

Steve,

I believe this is the Fuel pump controller and the rear shock controller (TT only) see here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=113&design=default&total=133

ABS control unit is on the O/S side...

if you want to be specific. its under the grey/black panel drivers side next to the rear seat, down where the seat belt goes. You have to take the seats up anyway to get to it.

I thought the ABS light on the dash flashed the same code as the one on the ABS ECU.

Would a ConZult show the ABS error?

Stuart

Yes, it's behind the drivers seat in the side panel.

You lift up/out the rear seat and remove the big panel that curves down the side.

Right........ so let me get this right the abs ecu is there somewere

but do i need to get to it if the dash light flashes the same!!!!!!!!!

i was under the impression it doesnt

To recap the problem i have is that the light on the dash [left hand side] is on permanantly, it does not flash go out or anything it is just annoyingly ON!!

So what do we suggest then!

getting a little:confused: [does not take a lot!]

cheers

Dave

LMAO I'ver never seen so many people discuss where the ABS ECU is.

I'm sure it's the same on both Jap and UK spec cars. It's also the same sort of place on the 2+0's.
