How is this for lucky...the image shows a near miss for a zed we had for belt and pump swap this week, the engine on the zed had been replaced some 6 months ago by a previous owner but without any belt history and a weeping water pump the owner thought it was time to get the job done.
When stripped down is was obvious that some damage had occured to the lower metal section belt cover ( maybe when the engine was been fitted) and the belt was catching on the sharp edge of it, in fact the first I saw was belt debris everywhere, unfortunately the picture does not show how cut up the belt was on the front edge due to this, a belt I might add that was otherwise in very good condition and looking at some sealant about had most likely been changed before the engine was transplanted.
The amazing thing is even with 6 months + of the belt catching like this the engine was fine?? oh and the date was Friday the 13th unlucky for some but not this guy.
