OK I am getting the point now.

We can't say what we want on this board as we face legal implications if we scare the owner(s) of this site.

But it's OK for information known only to Administrators/Moderators to be banded about to normal members.

Now I am laughing about this as it's to do with the thread that Macca the Hacker put up about what wheels he should fit on his car.

Now although I posted on the thread that he could have my spare wheel (space saver) for a laugh he has also managed to find out that I voted for him to put space savers back on, I also used Mrs T's login aswell seeing as I paid for both accounts. LMFAO :D

So OK it's funny that someone has grassed and told him probably because he threatened them. :D

But in future I think that this sort of thing is a bit naughty naughty. I also believe that Admin can read your PM's so be careful if you want to send something sensitive whether it be personal or whatever to another member.

So I basically say that as long as the people in the know and the power to release info like that keep abusing the responsibility I don't see why we should abide by the rules and shut up everytime we are told to because the owners are worried that they are going to cop for it. Savi?

Completely different scenarios, though Tim.

I can understand what you're saying but are you sure that Iain was told and didn't just make an educated guess?

The owners of the website and the mods CAN get sued for stuff that is posted on here. Scoobynet, for example, has an awful lot of legal threats due to stuff being posted and there are a lot of reminders about what you can and can't post. There is now even a ScoobyNet Policy forum to cope with issues including but not limited to the legal side.

And really, do you think that the mods / Admin have time to trawl through your or anyone else's PMs to see what you've said? I think not. :p

It's slightly different saying "X voted for option C on your poll" and "Company X are a thieving bunch of gits who stole my engine."

Capice? ;) ;) :p

Before anyone of the Hackers starts saying stuff about my Hard Disk contents, i want to say that all the girls are above 18 years of age :o :D :o :D :o :D :o

Na thats your arse mate, wipe it better next time!

In my opinion, even admins and mods shouldn't be able to get information about who voted for what. :(

It doesn't matter in a poll about which wheels are best, but there have been some more 'explosive' polls previously, and also allegations that people have been 'tipped off' about votes.

Dunno why you're getting so ar5ey over a poll FFS! If it were me I wouldn't give to flying sh1tes who'd voted.

Hope you're giving the other 9 people as much grief over what you claimed was a "P1SS TAKE!" ;)

you were certainly right about my puzle thread - even if nobody else beleived us!!!

The truth of the matter is that Admins can do pretty much anything, but trust me we have better things to do than read your PM's or whatever. As far as I know Mods can't do a great deal apart from edit posts etc. and now that we have eliminated our "surplus administrator", then we have preserved integrity of the forum for everyone.

At Mike Groves' suggestion I am tempted to remove the voting anonimity for polls but my concern is that all previous polls, some of which were a little imflamatory, will then become viewable by the person who posted the poll - so I'll have to think about that.

Suggestions on a postcard please.

I once imbibed some psilocybin and thought that all the BT payphones were out to get me.

Blimey, twas 'orrible!

What's the big deal about us knowing what people have voted on?

If the vote function were not available and people were to just post, we would know anyway. I can't believe that people would want to hide behind an anonumous vote.

I agree, whats the big deal with people knowing who voted for what? it's a forum not the general election FFS!

Well I voted for the spare wheel option just for a laugh as I knew the post was a p1ss take.

If the voting was not hidden I would have still voted for the spare wheels :D :D.

You're lucky it was payphones - there's hardly any of those left now. If it was mobile phones you'd have been in all sorts of trouble ! :D
