I have 18's on mine and wouldn't go bigger. Are you thinking of sticking with the standard suspension?

There are some 19"s on ebay in the States that I think are just to die for. I have a mate who works for American Airlines that might be able to sort me shipping etc.

What are the implications for suspension then ?

And any other issues like body clearance ?

Cheers

Mark

Most people who run 19's wish they hadn't. Turning circle becomes non-existent, wheels rub and bang on the arches and then there's the extra expense in terms of tires. "Can I have four 19" tires for my Z please...oh OK...I'll just pop down to the gold reserve for my last four bars of bullion for you!" LMFAO :D

I'd personally stay with 18's. ;)

Well if you were thinking of going for 19's then I would definately stiffen up the suspension. Otherwise dips and uneven roads will become a nightmare. You will rub the top of the arch. You would regret it I think tbh.

Plus zeds negative camber gets more negative with age! Result your expensive 19" tyres wear out their inside edges in no time on the rears.

OK for show but not for go unless you spend big bucks on adjustable camber kits as well and have bang on suspension.

At least 18" tyres are becoming cheaper. 17" probably the best compromise on ride quality, cost and performance. Its arguable but 18" looks good and proportionate on a zed.

Hasn't Tony (Lack 300) got 19's?

And very nice they look too.

Yea,so has Vinz;)

Well .... assuming that the rolling diameter is as near as dammit the same as before, then why would the wheels rub, surely this is down to the width and gettng the correct offset ?

Harder suspension ? on tyres with virtually no sidewall to absorb the bumps ?? Ouch !

I wouldn't of thought that with 19's the rolling diameter is going to be near as dammit to that of the stock 16's, even with the fatter profile! What rubs the most on mine is the top of the tyre on the underside of the arch. I'm thinking stiffer shocks would help this out.

Well it has to be pretty close or else stuff like speedo, ABS, traction control will start to get confused.

That is why you have to put lower profile tyres on.

Its alright saying it looks good, but if it drives like poop its no good.

Hasnt Johnny got 19s on his but he wished he stayed with 18s?

I seen that years ago, I remember showing it to SRRAE, but in hindsight I think he saw it way before me :p

Hi everyone.........i had 19"s on my zed and to be honest you just can't beat them, they look fantastic, and lets be honest thats why every one puts larger wheels on.........if people moan at the price of tyres why did'nt they stay with standard wheels:rolleyes: .............if you have the desire to put 19"s on then do it........i know of a couple of other zeds with 19"s.....and they love them.......asudo bought my zed ask him see what he thinks of them......at the end of the day do what you want to...:D

I also just seen my intelligence go way out the window ;) How bad was that English!

Also I meant to type the seen as seen

Im not stupid me!

Yeah, sorry. Still makes me laugh, and seemed kinda appropriate here.

;) soz, I think you may have got lost in the hidden dig at SRRAE :)

Yeah, I missed that completely. Don't be a playa hata now ;) I didn't get any of the tracks. I'll check with my mate M3Pilot - he seems to have a huge archive of this stuff. He forwarded the link to me in the first place. I think he's actually fluent in stunta-speak now.

Talking of chromed 19's tho... it's worth dropping into SE just for a look at their wheel stand. I shouldn't really take the p*ss too much cos I know there's a few people that've got 'em... but they're doing some big chromed 19 inch Kahn rip-offs. I personally think they look very... ahem... bling-bling ;)

Andy is totally correct I ordered 19s for my z the tire sizes I ordered are 235-35-19 front and 275-30-19 rear just like tavis tan has on the white light z he works at axis the difference in outside diameter changes the speedo 1.8 mph at 70 mph......I can live with that
