Your Results

Your 300ZX weighs about 3480 pounds and can complete

a 1/4 mile in about 14.02 seconds. That means that you've

got about 249.59 HP at the wheels, and about 324.46 HP at the flywheel.

Thats quite a transmission loss they're assuming  Any thoughts?

I think the weight is about right, correct me if I'm wrong :)

I like his site.

He used to have HIS top 10 list and the 300ZX was 7th or 8th I think :D

He also used to have the most accessed cars of the week and the 300ZX was always up there.

Its hard to say what the 300ZX weighs. In the US the TT are all 2 seaters and then there is manual and automatic transmissions.

Stuart

Only accurate way of doing this would be to take your car to a weigh bridge, with you the driver and half a tank of fuel;)

I got this.....

Your 300zx weighs about 4000 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 5 seconds. That means that you've got about 6324.67 HP at the wheels, and about 8222.07 HP at the flywheel. It also means that you are a big fat liar !

Yeah he has them going down the middle of the car. ;)

That was a short lived craze wasnt it. I used to see cars every day with strips down the middle. Dont see them any more.

It's all true, you know...

" Your Rusty old Sierra weighs about 20000 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 5 seconds. That means that you've got about 31623.34 HP at the wheels, and about 41110.35 HP at the flywheel. "

There's loads of cars with stripes down the middle around here. Good old Essex.

You haven't gone for an SE stripe jobby have you ?

Will we be blessed with your car at the Essex meet ?

Crikey, no! The only way I'd have stripes anywhere on my car is if they were black... sort of *stealth stripes*.

Yes, me and my car are gonna be there! I don't think anyone's gonna be blessed by my presence tho. I've been a bit unsure about whether or not I'd have the car back (again), but it's now booked for the 23rd. Needs mapping badly... so no laughing, OK?! ;)

My turn to be a pedant !

It badly needs mapping, very different from it needs mapping badly. LOL You'll need Pete to do the former and me the later ! LMAO :D

Your 300zx weighs about 3219 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 12.7 seconds. That means that you've got about 310.60 HP at the wheels, and about 403.78 HP at the flywheel.

OK, so I got the weight from the stats and fudged the time to match the BHP that was measured on the dyno. So who believes that then ?

You'll be doing the latter later, Mr P? P for Pendant, right? ;)

No, actually I was right in the first place :p ... because the standard map is pretty good, but my car runs like cack with it because of the cams and compression. Hence, my car needs a bad map to run better.

So, you're really getting into this mapping stuff then Andy?

Anyway, this calculator thing looks like too much transmission loss. And there's loads it doesn't take into account. But it's good for a laff.
