After stripping the the dash to access the instrument panel and putting back together (eratic speedo needle), I've now got chimes going off at around 60mph. I'm hoping this is just a Jap warning thing over 55 or 60 but if not, Help, its driving me mad. If it is just a speed warning chimes, where the hell is the chime box so I can end its life. I've tried listening but its difficult to trace whilst driving.

 

On a second note, I need to get 4 centre caps for MONDIA wheels (Tezuka Tsuyoshi Design) any suggestions. I've roamed the net to no avail and wondered if these could be machined.

The annoying little box sits above the clocks under the top cover.

Thanks Andy, I'm glad thats all it was. :D

You've probably pulled a wire from the speed defender unit if it wasn't chiming before. Just remove the two screws under the hood of the dash and lift it off. you should be able to see down the back of the clocks and tell which wire is loose or free.

I've got the same problem with my Jap spec ERGLANZ wheels. I need 4 centre caps, but they don't import them into the UK. I can only find Japanese or RUSSIAN web sites advertising them.

 

I asked if the caps could be machined and got a quote of £96 EACH:eek: If you get a cheaper quote then let me know!:)

Thought this would end up being the case. Damb expensive £400 for the set. Will do some research and let you know :rolleyes:
