I went and got my brakes checked yesterday cos they're squealing like a stuck pig, my front discs are warped and my rears are only being used across 1/4 of the disc

(I wondered why they were shite ;)

Got quoted £430 inc fitting for new front and rear discs and front pads.

Does this sound about right?

Not that I can afford it at the moment, but will have to be top of my list when I get paid :(

You can do it yourself with 3gbrakes.co.uk grooved Brembo castings and save yourself about £80. Or even more with stock type discs from a distributor. search on quinton.

You also need to check your caliper pistons are not sticking

Cheers guys, good prices there.

I'm sure I can fit them myself, just gotta wait to get paid now :(

'Kin 'ell!

lol bear in mind the duties on that lot and the weight, they are very heavy. best bet is 3g - they use brembo castings aswell. have had loads of people on here buy from them.

3g 20 grooved disks on mine.

Very Happy!!!!!

Eric, if you are changing the rear disc's you should eally change the rear pads as well especially s you say there was unevenb wear on them.

Sounds like a few pistons on the back calipers may be sticky.

Is there uneven wear on both sides or just the one ?.

It may be worth going to SS braided hoses as well, this made a hell of a difference with mine.

Hmmm, now I could tell you a story about them, but all I will say is it's really hard work getting the correct discs for an NSX !

Cheers, I had the rear pads done about a month ago and Jeff said one of the calipers was sticking.

I'll check the other wheel tonight and see if it's worn the same.

i've ordered a set of front drilled and grooved discs off ebay $115 and $60p+P, all in £108, bit of a bargain me thinks

Hi sb007,

You may be lucky, but you should perhaps prepare for UK 17.5% VAT, 6% Import Duty, and an admin 'tax/duty collection charge' (I have paid £5-£14 for this) to be added to your "bargin price" and payable at delivery. Still good though.

Best to be prepared (dib, dib, dib. dob, dob, dob!!!!!!)

Geoff

yup, it's all in your luck, though it helps to try to get the sender to put a declaration on it that it's $34 or summit (less than $35).

I even got a stun gun off ebay delivered from the states no probs this way (as it was marked less than $35 so not checked) :-)
