Who has had theirs done? If so where and what did it cost you?

I was lucky enough to buy one off the shelf for £1200 then with fitting the total bill was somewhere in the region of £1800.....

 

VMTP in Cannock are the guys that did it, they had allsorts of performance cars in there being done.

 

If I was to have to go through all that again (hopefully I never have to) I would go for the SE rebuild, same as MAC1's.

Fast road rebuild at SE £1650,done 35k now and changes through the gears as good as the day it was fitted.

Mine was done by Ivan Autos £857 Inc VAT collected and delivered back in three days. Includes converter and mods to oil flow, but I did not have any broken parts just needed belts clutches etc. 01707-646542

 

Supplying and fitting recon autobox, torque converter and uprated oil cooler in June 2000, discs, drums and flywheels skimmed...

you got a DAF variomatic transmission? :confused: :eek: :D (anyone remember those??)

i did mine myself done 2500+ so far no probs i am a mechanic so it wasnt that difficult for me cost me £35+vat new brake band,£8+vat pump oil seal,£21 rear main seal which is advisable to be done while box is already down,£11.75 inc vat tranny oil,£11+vat oil pump gasket.......Box as good as new...:cool:

My Z has recently come down with a strange illness, can drive forwards but can't drive backwards. Seems the auto box is stuck in reverse but can still shift in to Drive. Jeff from ZWorld had a quick look and its now being shipped off to an auto specialist to fix. I just hope it isn't gonna need an auto rebuild - that is gonna hurt :(
