ohhh s**t!!!!!!!!!

 

ive had the car for just over a week now, and in the last couple of days its gone into safety boost. so i did the ecu diagnostic and got the feared code 34.

the cars a jap spec tho and i havent run it on optimax, which ive heard is the closest RON to jap fuel so hopefully its something to do with that?

the car also hasent been run regularly for about 6 months before i got her so could the connections have become corroded. trouble is i cant find the connection where it sais it should be in the links ive found! does anyone know where the connection should be on a G reg jap TT?

Same place as any other! It will be there honest - you'll just have to find it. It will be in the centre of the back of the engine bay - one side goes onto the main loom, the other disappears down the middle of the back of the engine.

ok mate cheers i'll have another look, i saw 2 connectors near there but niether looked like the one in the picture! i'll just clean them both!

The other connector is for your passenger side O2 sensor

out of interest what is the VVT solenoid?

Its the valve that operates the variable valve timing. There is one on each intake cam (so 2 then :D). Because the system uses oil pressure to advance the timing, the oil pressure to the cam sprockets needs to be controlled - this is what the valves (VVT) do. You can see them on the back of the engine - they have white shielded wires coming from them ;)

i was wondering what those wires were! incidently do you know if nissan invented variable valve timing, not honda who advertise the use of it quite a bit?

I would have said that but I also haven't got a scooby what a VVT

solenoid is :D. LOL. Something to do with precats right ?
