How do find the date of manufacture?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Is there any way I can find out the month of manufacture for my Zed? I dont trust the V5 cos it was imported - its got a "declared" date.

Can I get it from the chassis number? I know where to find the year of manufacture but those places dont say the month

I'm ordering some pcv valves and hoses you see, and there's a distinction between pre- and post-May 1990

Cheers

Thanks Gio! :D

I'll now (when I go outside) know my zeds date of birth, hope I haven't missed it this year ;)

Edit in response to Gio's edit ;) - a couple of those eg boot liner & roller blind show months, guess I'll find out.

I emailed Nissan about mine because its an early 1991 car, but I have things on it from the 1990 car, like the 300ZX mats not Z mats. One or 2 other smaller things which looks like it was made in 1990 but some things say 1991.

I Emailed Nissan with my VIN number to ask. They told me I had some old stock parts from the 1990 300ZX but it was a 1991 spec with all the mechanical parts being for the 1991, so I wouldnt get the 1990 problems.

I have the CD (Mike Feeney got it from me ! LOL)

Easiest thing to do is email me a photo of the VIN plate and I can tell you the month of manufacture, plus confirm some other details, which can help in confirming whether you has maintained it's "original identity" when in Japan.

Offer is open to all with Jap imports of course, not 100% certain that my CD covers Euro cars.

Thanks Andy, just sending the pic now :)

Typical - my roller blind says 8/90, one rear light cover says 3/90 and the other says 1992

Thanks again
