Guest Sparks
OK I'm not yet a Z owner but looking to be. What can I expect to pay for insurance with full no-claims, age 40+ doing say 15k per year fully comp. Just looking for ball park ideas as to what is good and what is daft. Any companies people can recommend would be appreciated too. Must say the links here on the BBS are fantastic - done lots of reading tonite. SRRAE
Do a online quote at Tesco. http://www.tesco.co.uk They give good quotes, but you may be able to get it cheaper than what they quote. Stuart

Guest TT Tim
There really are so many variables for ZX Insurance costs, Age, Occupation, Driving record, Garage, Post Code, Modifications, UK or Import, to name the main ones. So really these 'How much was your insurance?' threads are a bit misleading. I for example am with Footman James, they informed me last week that Exhaust, ECU and Traction has made no difference to my premium, this might have been different if I'd had a bad driving record for example. Tim However, being 23, when I told Tesco about my exhaust, they added another 9%. When I told them about my induction they added yet another 6%. So my premium went up 15% because of the 2 most common and least effective modifications. Stuart
AndyP
I'd say between £300-600 depending upon UK/Jap and your location. Mine is Jap and I pay a little under £400 in rural Essex !
Guest Matty
I'm with Firebond, with my Z being a UK model my insurance is only £309 fully comp with £150 excess which for £20 you can have insured so you don't have to pay it!! Limited to 7000 miles p.a. but I don't that many. :D I'm 29 with 5 years no claims (which they don't use on the classic policy anyway) have an 'good' postcode too. Matty. Try Firebond.co.uk only if your car is a UK model. Matty.
Guest Sparks
Thanks for all the replies - interesting reading. I intend to try for a UK TT as standard as poss but looking at Tim's sig I can see that happenning. In my experience with other cars mileage was a big factor and this will be my "life" car so its going to do a few. Sparks
Trevz
Srrae, i was quoted from Tesco but they were twice as much and wanted tracker fitted! Cheeky gits even wanted to know where i shop and what colour bxrs i wear and where i bought them. Filthy Fill, i use a broker from Surrey called Keith Michaels Insurance , who insured me with Norwich Union, i do have a £270 excess tho. I pay less than that and i'm 20! My advice is just search the net and try every single place. The typical good places werent good for me and then budget (the last place you'd expect) gave me an outstanding quote, but i managed to persuade insurance factory to take me on and not charge me for the standard mods (boost, wheels etc). As TT said, everyone's different so try everywhere, dont assume somewhere's bestcos your mate said so.

They want trackers on Jap imported cars. Stuart
Guest tanzx
Try the Factory Insurance Company. I pay sub- £500 for an import, TT. Also do a search and you'll find tons of different companies that people on the forum have used. Wish you luck. Geoff.
