Hi folks

Do the panels just pull off and are fixed by plastic clips or are they screwed in place? The service manual doesn't seem to have much detail.

I think one of the speakers have come loose as there's a knocking sound when I go over certain bumps. Tried the rear suspension but I'm sure it is not the culprit.

Cheers for the info Mac. I'll have to pull harder tomorrow.

What are the chances of one of the clips breaking, hmmmmm.

The spring clips are strong, you need to slide a screwdriver in and lever it.

if it's not your speaker, check your boot lid! I know it sounds silly but mine does over every bump!

take the whole moulding off mate, you are not going to be able to fix the speak just by pulling the grill off.

If your boot is banging going over bumps adjust the release catch. Three or four bolts holding it, loosen them off and then the whole mechanism slides up and down.

Be careful not to over tighten the bolts. Very soft as sh1te metal. ;) Boot is a pain in the ar5e on 300's...IMO. LOL :D

Tried this :( had it all the way down, even have some folded cardboard under the rubber bump stops - makes it a sod to close but it still rattled.

I think the struts are busted as one of them has leaked some grease. Also checked out the panel in the boot and removed the counter weight since I have no rear spoiler or wiper. Thinking the unbalanced boot bust the struts.

Also, dunno if anybody else can do this, but when the boot is all the way up, I can push a corner up about half an inch and it makes a nice clonking sound. That's what I get while driving (all the time!)

Speaker covers come off easiest if you pull up the edge towards the centre of the car first. Relocating by locating the other edge of the cover in first also seems easier. You can do it with fingers this way and no risk of damaging the fabric. At least on mine it was!

Removing boot area trim panels means starting at the rear centre first and getting busy with screws once you expose the first edge. You then work your way round.

Christ!!! Nothing is simple on a Zed. Rear boot lid seems to fit tightly so surely cannot make the noise?

It all starts with a little rattle and before you know it all hell breaks loose.
