Anyone have Windows-based Racelogic software settings?

Hi all.

I haven't posted here for a while, but I was hoping someone might have a settings file for their Racelogic TC - one that can be read by the Windows-version that someone wrote not so long ago. I'm trying to see what the settings look like, since I can't hook into my Racelogic TC at the moment.

I'd appreciate it if someone mailed me the file direct to:

dino@owendevelopments.co.uk

or

dinom@globalnet.co.uk

Regards,

Dino

Hello Dino,

You can email the guy direct for it - graham.rudd@net.ntl.com

Hi Vijay,

I might do that, but all I wanted was someone's file that could be loaded in. If I could connect to my TC at the moment, I'd be able to get my current settings out, but I thought if someone had the file handy, they could email me one.

Thanks.

Dino

Hi Dino,

Where are you located bud ?

I'm gonna put the software on my web site tonight/tomorrow (both windows and DOS versions with some guide lines on how to get the best settings for your car).

Check http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk in the traction section in the next couple of days and you should see it there.

Hi Stuart,

I live near Bedford, but work near Oxford! :-)

I'll keep an eye out on your site though.

What I'm trying to do is compare how the Racelogic TC works to the way a MoTeC ECU TC works. If I can convince myself that the MoTeC does it better, I'll sell my Racelogic and finance the MoTeC a bit better! ;-)

Dino

Stuart,

Make sure (you probably already have) that you ask the guys permission to put the software on your site. Nothing to do with copyright but I'm sure he didn't want it distributing because he wanted to keep people up to date with any new versions ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

Yep, agree with Andy on this one.

The bloke was a top guy and putting it on your site without asking I think would be a BIG no-no.

Bit of a kick in the balls, when he kindly emailed it to us all.

Tim

Thanks guys, I also had a few PM's about this.

I was send this windows version by someone who I won't name, so I assumed it was freeware.

I will give him a shout as I was unaware of the understanding you guys have with him.

AFAIK this software IS freeware - the bloke who wrote it just wants to know who has copies so he can send new releases/bug fixes etc - top geeza!

CheerZ,

Andy

I personally don't think there is any other better TC unit in the market than Racelogic's.

Stuart remember to update me when you get an upgraded version of the software

"Ammar"

Why has he updated it at all? I got it from him ages ago and recieved no update.

Ammar, in order to make a fair comparison between the Racelogic TC and any other TC device, ideally you need to have tried both. I've yet to find someone though that has tried the MoTeC's TC features.

I've been very happy with the Racelogic TC on my car (it managed to get me a 12.6@110mph at the pod last time out, when before fitting it I was getting mid 13s!), but when I fit the MoTeC, the Racelogic TC will cause issues/errors in the MoTeC whenever the TC is operating because the injector signal will be interupted. If the MoTeC TC will be just as good, I can still have decent TC but without any error messages so I can still use my engine check light for any error detection in the ECU.

Dino

Probably but it may not work, because it would depend on which order you connect the wheel sensors. I didn't follow the method described in the TT.net article because I considered my method more logical.

Ah got ya.

Can I asked what method you used, just out of interest ?.

Was it light colour front left to dark colour rear right ? (if you see what I mean ?)

Can't remember exactly, but my notes seem to indicate it went like this :-

Racelogic wire-----ABS wire----Wheel

Red---------------Light green--FL

Blue--------------Blue---------FR

Yellow------------Brown-------RL

Green-------------Orange------RR

TimmyT's, Ajay's and Az's will all be the same.

The write up from TT.net puts them in an odd order, something like RL, FR, RR, FL I think ...
