A mate of mine from uni days has just ordered himself a new scooby WRX STi with some extra kit from the manufacturer. reckons it can do 0-60 in about 4.6 secs. Added to that the fact it handles better than the Zed, uses less fuel and is cheaper to maintain means that I`m getting nightly phone calls telling me to get a car that is worth racing.......he`s a decent guy (really) but is really pi**sing me off right now.

 

Just thought I`d share. Fancy a scooby being quicker than my 400hp Zed. I just can`t imagine it.

Tell him to blow it out his arse, cos he's only got the new boy racer special car, hehe its taken over from nova/saxo cru, no offence to nova/saxo cru, much much offence to 'scooby' cru ;~)

He'll have 19" diablos on it soon.

wont uIt probably use less fuel if he's driving it like it ought to be driven, and they dont cost less to maintain, maybe becuase its new, but when they go wrong they still go wrong big. For some reason subarus have the reputation for being reliable?!?

my mate has a modded STi & its fekking quick, handles amazingly & he loves it to bits.

 

he still loves the look of my zed tho ;)

 

economy is about the same as my car, maintenance - hes spent a fortune. also cost a lot more than a zed to buy.

 

depends what you want really. you cant match the performance of a zed AND the looks of a zed for anything near the price IMHO

I`m right with you there. Skyline = no fun Zed = lots of fun. The idea that you have that amount of power through those rear wheels has always been one of the most delicious aspects of the Zed for me.

What time do you get through at Addams? It would certainly be a pleasure to give you a lift home sometime. Whenever I`m driving the Zed my wife insists that I drive through town rather than around on the A41. She likes the "thunder" the place up a little.

i once went to donington race circiut where my mate was testing his race car...and while we were there there was a scooby club having a bit of a blast about 20 cars in total........and to tell you the truth i have never been so bored watching these cars go round in circles....they were quick but so so boring.....not even really screeching the tyres.....i know that they are a quick car..as before this i was interested in them but after this it really put me off them...to boring and too predictalbe.....;) ........

Hello? if your z is 400bhp it will BLOW that over-rated heap off the road! I have raced many a subaru including a modified STI RA (that was close admittedly) and have beaten them all, and my car was only about 350bhp at the time.
