Guest Welsh Beef
IS there any real benefit in choosing to buy a series 2 over a series 1 given that all I can see is its a bit newer and the seatbelt isn't on the door

And no tweed.......thank fook for that. Don't really get what you're sying tbh, it will be newer, end of. I certainly wouldn't buy a series 2 just because its a series 2 if you know what I mean.......would much rather have a well looked after series 1. Guest Welsh Beef
What I mean is are there more known faults with the series one compared to the series two. On the N/A apparently below a certain chassis number there were big head/valve problems
beermonster
i believe they have a revised PTU on s2 which doesnt fail like the S1, think u have 4 speed climate fan instead of 2 speed electric passenger seat i think as well, there maybe other refinements too model line up

Guest Welsh Beef
Another thing for the series 2 is that you have the option of an airbag. And the seat belt is in a better position
Gio
Nope - ECU is Engine Control Unit. PTU is Power Transistor Unit All these TLAs and many other fascinating FAQs can be found on http://www.300zx.org.uk http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_17.htm and about PTU in general: http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/pturepair/pturepair.htm HTH - Gio

Guest Welsh Beef
Whats the boot space like in a Z does it differ from a 2+2 to a 2+0?
Clarkey
boot space in a zed is not bad at all. Can easily get a weeks shopping in the back with space to spare. Id say theres probably little difference in actual volume from the 2+2 to the 2 seater, the 2 seater's boot is much deeper than the 2+2. Paul C
The series 2 zed still has the early PTU here in the uk. although my series 2 zed now has a series 2 PTU after my series 1 PTU packed up :D ;)
