had a bloody good look in the manual for you, and as far as I can see the motor for the doorlocking is in the passenger door. Although I will say it is not very clear. Sorry if this is absolutely no help :D

I believe jock is right. There is only a motor in the passenger side. When you fit an alarm to the car you have to fit a solenoid motor into the driver's side. And make certain it's done correctly with the right bracket - if the solenoid is attached to the door wire directly, it wiggles the wire and eventually snaps it so the doorlock don't work no more!

I know this is an old thread but I've been having this problem today. Had a toad dealer round but wasn't sure how to interface the key fob with the central locking. Anyone got any definitive answers?

THE only way to fit remote central locking to a zed (at least the earlier ones) is to fit a 2 wire solenoid to the drivers door.

It's a fiddly job, particularly the geting 2 cables through the loom from the body to the door. But the solenoid itself can be mounted pretty easily in the recess right next to the lock mechanism. The conecting rod from the inside door handle connects to a pivot with a plastic insert that the solenoid conecting rod will fit into if you bend it at a right angle.

That sounds horendous!! I know what I mean anyway! I should have taken photos and done a how to!
