yeh, that's the jobby. stupid little 1 foot tall aerial thing with green light on top that pops up out of front bumper so that 3 foot tall japanese bloke can see where the front of his car is.... :-)

stu

What a stupid idea!!

Why didn't Nissan just give him an extra cushion to sit on!!!:D :D ;)

LOL

I always wanted one of those just for the gadget factor.

I thought it might be a parking aerial but if it's in the same spot it must have been a factory option?

Does anyone have one they don't need or know where I can buy one? :D

I suppose if you are really small you could use a standard electric aerial ;)

james,

I used halfords enamel paint and primer,I think if you are one of the lords patient children you could do it a lot better,I am not.

I sanded the fascia down lightly with 600 grade to break the surface and then in with the primer (after cleaning it of course)

I got a bit sily with the paint first time round and put too heavy a coat on ( no patience) and had to clean it off and start again. As a result there are a few patches on it,but to match my impatience I am not a perfectionist.

A little time taken would see it right:)

Thanks Jock, I'm going to give this a go.

Is it best to lacquer this after ?? Have just sprayed mine and am well pleased with it!

Cheers.

I think clear lacquer would certainly give it that finished look.

But it may be worth testing it on a scrap piece of plastic, to see what you think first.

Hmm, not sure I would have sprayed the turbo pipes as the paint will flake off in time with all the flexing they'll get.

I had an old TV & stripped it's guts out, sprayed it silver  . It looked OK actually but I should have laquered it because dust just got stuck in with the paint!

The thing is, with Silver you have to put the paint on in thin coats otherwise it'll run like fook. By doing this, you end up with a very uneven surface which traps dust, so you have to laquer!

Those arent the turbo pipes (mines is an NA) I have sprayed but the air intakes to the throttle bodies, the original hard plastic ones.

James,

Wheres the pics???

Did you go with a laquer?

Alright Jock,

I did lacquer it in the end and althought it darkened it a bit it did give it a nice shiny and smooth finished look to it. I'm really, really pleased with how it turned out and want to say thanks for giving me the idea!

Erm.........haven't actually got a digital camera but my mate has and he's about over the weekend. I'll prob get around to doing the window switches aswell I think. When the car is locked up and you're looking in, it really does look good.

Cheers,

(are you about today? I am over your way this afternoon)

Looks good.

I have pics of mine in place, but am using my mobile as a modem, and it is slow as cancer, will upload when I am home at the weekend.

Got a new idea, I see you have the same grey tweed as mine ( i think its standard) the guy who had mine has replaced some of it with black leather effect vinyl and I was going to finish the job, but may do it in red??

What do you think, would it look totally ****??
