right, started the bastid thing this morning and left it to idle for about 5 mins. got in, reversed off the drive, then drove down the road. upon accelerating all power just disappeared!!!!! (although the engine was still turning over ie diddnt cut out) i got to the end of the road bout 150 yards and the idle was hunting between around 60 (maybe less) and around 1200 to 1300. it seemed to settle after a bit but then started hunting again. I managed to turn round and limp it back home. oh lordy what now? ptu? airflow sensor?

I'd try cleaning the 'usual suspects' first- engine temp sensor/TPS connectors.

Failing that, it sounds like PTU

Give the contacts a clean as it doesnt sound like a complete failure
