Duck!...Newbie comin through...:D

Ok, I`ve been through all the old posts and more or less decided I was going to go with the Blitz SUS filter...but then I had to go and find the new Sonic Power model...Doh! The main differences seem to be the shield to prevent hot air entering the intake and cotton gauze instead of stainless steel mesh, and despite much searching I haven`t been able to find any reviews or tests...so...was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this model? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!:)

Cheers,

Leigh.

Have no direct experience of that particular model, but anything that keeps hot air out(and therefore allows colder, denser air in) can only be a good thing. Also In my humble opinion a cotton guaze would be easier to clean than a steel mesh. Just remember to oil the gauze.

Welcome to the forum by the way:D

A heat sheild is good for filters in engine bays. But the air filter is infront of the radiator and higher than it too so not much heat will get there. Also the air reaches the air filter via tubes which originates from the bottom of the front bumper. So I think there is very little heat reaching the air filter anyway.
