Finally got a Saturday off tommorow and I'm taking my girlfriend to do her xmas present - a day driving the aformentioned cars on a track.

Anyway, she's absolutley shitting it, so has anyone got any words of wisdom I can use to calm her down so she can just enjoy herself?

"Don't stack it love, they cost around a hundred grand! Now you just enjoy yourself and don't think about that guy at Trax 2001 who crashed his brand new 911 into the pit lane wall when he wasn't insured for track days!" :D

Not exactly what I was hoping for.....

Question... : If she's bricking it, why book it for her in the first place?

Anyway, tell her not to stress and drive at 15mph if she feels the need....

Pair of socks? Totes Toasties with the grip stuff on the bottom. :D

Why not say.....

"Don't worry dear, these days aren't competitive at all, all the other people on the course will just be there for a nice day out"

Then you could remind her that the video camera is rolling and add "yeah of course I love you" just to may it a perfect day for her!"

Good luck - I can't even get my Mrs to drive the zed (and she used to drive my 220 BHP Saab Turbo all the time)

"It's alright Love - they're insured and they belong to someone else."! :D

I suspect I've driven those exact same cars. The Diablo is a blast, the Viper is a bus and the Lotus is brilliant fun. On the day my XKR turned out to be an XK8 (I cooked the brakes) and the Porshe was some doggy old thing with a fecked 3rd gear. Brilliant day though.

Anyway, it's not a race, it's just about driving around cones at any speed you choose with a racing instructor.

After the first car we got back to the start, the instructor gets out and says to my wife, "Bloody Hell, does he always drive like that?". "Yes!" she answered.

Any of the following:

"You did sign the will didn't you?"

"The diablo is twice as powerful as the Z but it has better crumple zones and an airbag"

"If the back end lets go, try not to over correct it"

"Don't hit the grass too sideways or it might roll"

:D ;)

Top day out:D :D :D

Vikki had a great time.

Ajay I booked it for her cos she wanted it for xmas

AndyP, noone at all liked the Viper, your right its a bus, or possibly an oil tanker....They did have a real XKR there and bizzarely (especially considering it was an auto:p ) it was everyones favorite car, even over the Lambo.....

Hehe - He actually got paid out for that in the end! Silverstone produced a letter saying that it was not a race event but a driver improvement day. He took the insurance co to court, and won believe it or not...

CheerZ,

Andy
