So reading up on the differences between auto and manual tt's, the obvious main 2 are the size of the turbo's and milder cams in the auto.

Has anyone spec'd up the cams in their auto? You don't seem to read about it? And where would that fit in the scheme of things with bigger intercoolers and turbo's? I know SE do a bit of cam work.

As far as I was aware, the cams are the same in autos and manuals, but there's a slight difference between different Z32 series. I have an auto... SE have reprofiled mine but I only really went for it cos everything else was getting done, like a sticking exhaust valve... and 2 busted pistons.

Really can't wait to get it back. I'll let you know what the torque curve looks like. It's only a mild reprofile so shouldn't run lumpy at idle.

the auto cams are different. People who have converted to manual always say its better than a genuine manual car. I read something the other day which I dont really understand but anmyways it said that on the auto the intake cams are 240 degrees and the exhaust are 248 degrees, but in the manual they are both 248. Maybe you can make sense of it ;)

Yes the intake cams are different!

The degrees you are talking about Clarkey are the degrees of opening that cams open the valves for!

So if I am right the Manual cams open for a longer amount of time on the intake!

I believe the cams on the Manual, give you more top end power, the ones on the Auto more torque! But I could be mistaken!

Piper cams do reprofiling, but it would be better to go with a proven profile/name designed for what you want from your car!
