Hi!

I wonder if any of you can help? I have a set of ERGLANZ alloy wheels fitted to my Z. They are 6 spoke in a three spoke design (see my rides page) and have a cover over the 5 wheel nuts, secured with a bloody ENORMOUS central locking nut.

The problem is....... over the years various tyre shops without the right sized spanner have had a go at the central nuts, resulting in them now being buggered to schit. They have tried the good old hammer and chisel approach I think:mad:

I have been to my local engineering company, who would be happy to make me a replacement set of nuts for £96 EACH!!!

I have looked on Google for ERGLANZ but coz it's a Japanese make their site is all in Jap. I'm on a poxy dial-up so I can't do the download for Jap characters.

Anyone know thier e-mail address so I can ask them if they do replacement nuts (if they can understand me that is)

Cheers All!

I've had a wander around and it seems as if they are owned by Bridgestone

BRIDGESTONE FVS CORPORATION
and their site has got Bridgestone on it in places. Might it be worth contacting Bridgestone in the UK to see if they can help.

(couldn't find an e-mail I could understand tho' sorry :( )

Hi Gio!

I've been on to Bridgestone technical department, and they are sending an enquirey e-mail to their European and Japanese offices.

I hope I get some sort of a result, as I love my wheels but I don't fancy spending £400 on wheel nuts!

Cheers!!

Neil

Hallo Neil - I found one other site (as it happens in Thailand) but it deffo lists Erglanz wheels as a range from Bridgestone wheels.

http://www.cockpitonline.com/product_service_w2.asp?model_id=17

Their e-mail is down the bottom and is at least in English so if Bridgestone can't help, maybe these guys can.

Us airport chaps gotta stick together!

Cheers - Gio

What about the guy on here who does the CNC machining for the trendy oil filler caps. He may be able to help.

Hi X-biker,

Looked at your pics on the rides section but couldn't really make out any details of your centre caps. Are they hexagonal nut or socket? How deep is the thread? I imagine the high cost the eng company want is because as the caps are so large, they would probably have to make them from round bar and then machine the flats on. Try another machine shop before giving up. If you don't get any joy from the guy that does the oil filler caps then send me some dimensions and I might be able to get them made up a bit cheaper than you've been quoted.;)

By the way, how do you do the 'download' of japanese characters?

Cheers,

Ian

This is Kris, I think he has a current thread in the for sale / wanted, you could try and pm or email him.

Just go to a jap site http://www.nissan.co.jp and IE should ask you if you want to install. I think you may need your OS disk at hand.

no particular help I know, but I've got the same wheels as

your signature picture (yokohama AVS). whose car is that then since it doesn't appear to be yours (or your wheels) ? looks good in that paint. I've only ever seen 2 others cars with my alloys on.. a yellow one in the USA, and a supra in the front of max power.

I haven't got a clue who the Z in my sig pic belongs to. I found it as a thumbnail shortcut on some Z enthusiasts web site. Damn nice car, although I believe it is a SWB Z Light (otherwise known as a N/A ;) )

Thanks for the advice guy's! I'll wait to hear something back from Bridgestones, and then go the other routes you suggested if I get no joy.

CHEERS!!!!!
