Just typical, get my UK 90tt auto back on the road, have it running for just a couple of weeks and I get back to it today to find a big puddle of green oily looking liquid under the osf wheel.

Wasn't able to get a good look at the stuff because the heavens opened up as I got back to it. Limped home (just under a mile) watching guages and listening for noises. Nothing....

The aircon needs re-gassing so that wasn't on, so I don't think its condensation, plus it had a real fairy washing up liquid green colour to it.

Any ideas ?? Its likely to be the weekend before I have another chance to investigate...

Most likely coolant, unless you put Creme de Menthe in the windy washers !

Yeh AndyP suggestion sounds correct. One easy way to tell if its coolant is to stick your finger in and taste the liquid if its sweet tasting then thats the antifreeze in the coolant.

Or drink a substantial amount of it and if you become ill or die, its not normal water.

OK - spent about 90 mins tonight looking for a leak. It is definately coolant leaking from somewhere, although I have no idea where..

Anyone got any ideas short of trying to talk the local nissan garage into getting it on the ramp and having a look around ?

I`d strongly reccomend a look around the water pump.

Had the pump replaced last year (60K service) and the blighters at Nissan screwed up the water hose connections. Maybe the old "white sheet under the car while you run it for 5 mins" trick will give you a better idea of the leakage source.

Very best of luck

Try looking down here, mine leaks from this spot, but mainly after switch off.

A pic from a bit further away, you will need a torch so have a good look. (on your car, not on the pic!!!).

Mines something to do with the water pump, either the hard to get to hoses or the pump itself.

Zedworld here we come!

If it aint a leak, maybe the overflow's overfull. Check the white dip-stick at the front pas corner.

Just a thought.

Ok, Jack the right side of the car up slightly, turn to full right lock.

Then on the Passenger side wheel arch in front of the wheel you will see two bolts down the side of the inner arch. Another two directly in the middle or the arch. Then two more under the front bumper. These bolts hold the fender in place. You don't need to remove this completely but by removing these screws/bolts you will be able to pull it down to reveal a reservoir. You're problem will lie around here somewhere :D.

Hope this helps.

Surely if the problem was in this area it would leak from the NSF rather than the OSF ?

Regards

Jon.

Hehehe

"Who's not been paying attention ?

Who didn't read the question ?

Who doesn't know his NSF from his OSF ?

Who is the weakest link ?"

LOL :D

Yeah, alright - coat's on and I'm half way out the door.

Well after spending many hours looking for this coolant leak I've had to resort to booking it in to a Nissan Dealer !!

Now I bet thats gonna cost me :(
