Sorry to hear about your mis-fortune mate. Not good by any means.

I think the questions you need to ask yourself are:-

How much did you buy the car for?

How long have you had it?

How much have you spent on it so far?

Has it been a reliable car so far?

Can you affoprd to fix it?

If you get it fixed, can you afford for it to go wrong again?

This is what I would ask myself. If the answers are not favourable, it may be worth your while to break it, but it would be a shame to loose another Z, especially a UK model.

55 km on clock? 30+K miles

can't say anymore.

feel quite sick.

what went wrong?

Feel pretty down at the moment!

I assume it is a Jap import with you saying 55Km.

There is nothing wrong with mine but I live in constant fear of it blowing up so I can't imagine how you fear.

Can I ask how much you bought is for and whether it has leather interior?

Does the leather interior have anything to do with the reliability ?!?!?!?! :D

You love your Z I presume (Most people who have them do!)?

What is the cost of losing something that made you smile when you drove it?

What is the cost of losing the best stress relief in the world, sat on your drive and available 24/7?

What is the cost of losing the ability to wipe the floor of Novas and 5GTT's while looking gracefull and calm?

What is the cost of loosing your Z?

What is the cost of leaving it on the drive until you can afford to fix it?

What is the cost of a replacement engine and roping a few people to help put it in?

For life, theres a Z. For engines theres Barclaycard!!!!!

You will regret it if you don't fix it.

Paul ( even my Mrs agrees with me on this )

oh dear - XTT, have you been on the stella tonight?

However, just off the subject, I don't know about anyone else but, your Dirty Chrisitna signature is killing my browser and I have 600 Cable. Not sure what it's doing to all you 56K people.

No offence mate.

Lol, just about to post that. 650k on sigs is a bit excessive lmao

I would think your best bet would be to work out how much you can afford to get it fixed, then get the car to Andy Duff or another specialist & find out how much it's gonna cost.

If the engine is repairable it might not be bad & gives you a chance to upgrade ;)

Sorry people :o

find out exactly whats wrong with it first, get a price then go from there

Jamiee,

sorry to hear about your car mate, hope you can get it sorted. Sure I speak for everybody when I say if there is any advice or help, just ask.

XTT- I liked your signature, CA is kicking

Its going to be expensive, but there are things you can do to keep costs down.

A full rebuild, if you engine has blown in a big way, would be best but the 2nd most expensive choice. 1st most expensive being a new engine from Nissan.

Your best bet is to probably buy a 2nd hand engine and put that in. Most places that sell 2nd hand engines give 12 month gaurentee.

Was the engine modified? Many Japanese imported cars come over with some modification.

Stuart

:( Thanks for the Replies.

Probably needs new engine/rebuild.

might scrap get another.

Don't Know yet.

I Don't think the engine was modified. but its got a full stainless

exhaust Very large tail pipes (AB Flug - Lexus tuner in japan as far as i can make out) and some very nice alloys (Yokohama's).

But Judging by the the amount of speed detector hardware in the

car when a bought it perhaps its been thrashed.

Other than that It might have been the metal piece of part of caravan I pulled out from under the car. Who Knows no warning

just Bang!

Really need somebody mechanically minded to look at it.

But from what I can see, and the amount of oil thats sprayed

around the car. All up the back, out of the drivers side alloy, on the road.

Then all the engine could do was seize.

Perhaps she threw a piston.

But it hasn't put me off. will be buying another(In Time).

I'll Know a lot more about what to look for anyway next time.

Sory to hear mate - look your first step is to get someone to look at it!

Geoff.

Please please please dont scrap it. You will regret it once its gone! Even if you have to sit and look at it for 6 months while you save for repairs, you will still be able to look at it!

Dont let it get you down too much!

Good luck.

Paul

IMHO if the bodywork and under the car is in good nick, don't scrap it If you can't afford a rebuild am sure you can find a second hand engine.
