I go into my living room, I have a monitor, an optical drive, a hard drive, and a connection to my phone line!

I go to my computer and I have the same?

Why the duplication, or is there some sort of mega system out there that will do it all, but it is top secret!

LMAO!

Says the man with duplicated cars on his drive! :D

always thought it a bit silly that we can have walkabout digital phones, yet if we want to use a dial up connection, we have to have a wire running across the room, someone should invent a wireless box which sits by your pc and connects to your homestation the same as the walkabout phone does

There is one, just like those cordless phones, you can have a cordless modem (effectively). In reality it's a cordless phone with a modem socket I think.

Alternatively you can have a wireless LAN in the house (like me). Attaches to the broadband connection and you're away. I have about 6 machines on my network - firewall, server, workstation, laptop, another laptop and a PDA !

Problem I find with Cordless networking is the 11mbit connection. I transfer a lot of information from my computer to others and 11 Mbit takes ages to do.

Stuart

You can get g5 wireless networking now which does up to 55mbit
