I just recently changed my front brake pads and after 100 miles I still have a really bad brake shudder when breaking from 40 mph and above. From last week I have noticed dripping from the front suspension link bushes at the side of the radiator grease/oil like substance dripping on my garage floor. Tonight I put my car over a pit at work to find the oil/grease is actually was dripping from these bushes, the other end of the link bolts onto the bottom wishbone.

I have no signs of oil from anywhere else near the bushes and as they are at the front near the radiator the only place the oil/grease can come from is these bushes.

When i was reversing the car off the pit, the drivers side wheel caught the pit runner and i heard a clunk from the drivers side. I got a workmate to move my car while i watched from underneath only to find the drivers side bush i was describing is totally f*****.

Anyone ever noticed the oil/grease coming from the bushes.

Yeah, Nissan use bushes filled with a thick grease. When the bushes start to wear down, the grease leaks.

I dont know what road to go down here whether to try and get 2 links from Andy Z or get replacement bushes like from Z World.

I'd like to go the full bush kit road but pennies are lacking just now.

Well to be honest my car is all over the road when u push it and the shudder is quite scarey when at above 40 mph , not that i drive like a loonie .

Maybee the bushes have been fooked for a while and this is them just really coming to light.

The easy replacement bushes are the polypropylene ones. I got them from Powerflex - Chris Witor. About £50. They dont take long to change, you just need a big vice to squash them in.

I also had the dripping silicone filled ones and the disc shakes and only fully cured it by new discs from 3Gbrakes and rebuiding my calipers with new seals.

Hello John,

Surely if you get second hand links, they might leak in a few months, deffo go for new bushes.

Vijay......cheers...new bushes it is.

Willie did u source the bushes locally or do u have a contact number.

Found the number on a search here - chris witor 01749 678152. Get them next day or so by mail.

Also you should check your discs for runout. Feel for rust on the inside surface as well - sign of sticking pistons.

When I was sorting this problem I had a mate get the discs skimmed for me as a homer. Unfortunately they made one perfect and one worse. So I have a good stock disc available if you find only one of your discs is iffy. I had them on and off so many times that I decided sod it - 3gbrakes. They've been excellent.

I think its just bad luck on my part that the vibration has got worse since i did the pads.....the brakes were fine b4, no shudders at all and the discs aint new but they have a very small lip with wear and next to no grooves etc on them.......i will try the number u gave me and go for new bushes, i have a press etc at work so that shouldnt be a prob.

I honestly think the discs are fine, I have noticed the drivers side bush as being damp since i have had the car, only since the passenger side one leaked like it did did i take a close look at them.

Come to think of it the steering doesnt feel right and hasnt for a week or so......here's hoping.

Cheers again willie..........john crisp
